Most people decide to start a lifestyle reset for a better body by losing weight and cutting fat. With this in mind, they opt for restrictive diets, cardio-focused workouts, or go for an invasive route by submitting themselves to liposuctions or tummy tucks.

But if you’re striking for a full-body recomposition, you should focus on more than just weight and aim for long-lasting and smart results with efforts that also contribute to muscle building.

Nowadays, there are multiple non-invasive body sculpting treatments that require no anesthesia, produce no side effects, and have little to no downtime. But choosing one to pursue can be overwhelming since the majority of recommendations shown online can be misleading. We broke it down for you and simplified your search for fat-burning devices versus the industry’s leading technologies in fat-burning and muscle building.

Fat-Burning and Muscle Building, all in one.

The only machine that benefits patients with both outcomes, fat-burning and muscle-building are EMSculpt and EMSculpt NEO. Both are FDA approved for the abdomen, buttocks, inner thighs, outer thighs, biceps, and triceps.

1. EMSculpt NEOEmsculpt_Neo_PIC_Unit-1_ENUS100

It was discovered that changing the contraction patterns emitted through the magnetic fields to an irregular pace tricked the muscle into working at a higher intensity, and this resulted in the creation of EMSculpt NEO, which increases muscle growth by 25% on average and reduces fat by 30%. All in six 30-min sessions, spaced between five to ten days.

EMSculpt NEO amplifies HIFEM’s new pattern’s ability to produce results by combining it with radio frequency (RF). Radiofrequency energy emission ramps things up by providing heat to the muscle while it’s simultaneously being contracted. This energy enhances muscle stimulation and damages fat cells, permanently removing them from your body. These technologies are combined in a single applicator to optimize results and time, and the intensity can be graduated to your body’s tolerance.

How it works?

EMSculpt is a simpler machine that only uses HIFEM®, high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology. It employs electromagnetic stimulation to help muscles in the targeted area perform contractions that aren’t achievable during routine exercises. The contraction pattern and rate remain consistent and predictable during the treatment sessions, allowing fat reduction. EMSculpt achieves fat decrease because the body responds to the extreme energy that supramaximal contractions request with a reaction that releases free fatty acids. Free fatty acids overwhelm the fat cells causing their death.

3. Evolve ToneEvolveX_Naked_No-Stack_Side_CO

How it works?

The machine was manufactured by InMode using Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to stimulate muscle contractions. Using hands-free applicators that emit EMS, up to four applicators can be used to treat specific muscle groups. The FDA has cleared the EMS technology to be used in the abdomen, hips, and buttocks. Treatments are composed of four 30 to 60-minute sessions. No precise percentage of muscle growth is promoted, just significant reduction.

InMode has created other applicators that only emit RF to be used separately for fat-burning purposes and called the treatment Evolve Tite. The company has also worked on Evolvex, a treatment combining radiofrequency with EMS. No specific percentages for fat reduction and muscle increase have been exposed yet.

4. truSculpt® iDtruSculpt-flex-device-angled

How it works?
Manufactured by Cutera, truSculpt iD uses radiofrequency lipolysis through applicators that provide topical heating to elevate tissue temperature. The FDA has only approved the device for abdominal lipolysis. Treatment is composed of one or two sessions that last 15-minutes, and it has proven to provide an overage of 24% fat reduction.

The same manufacturer created truSculpt® flex, a separate machine that uses Multi-Directional Stimulation (MDS) technology to treat muscle growth. The technology replicates intensified crunch, squat and twisting actions, and it has eight applicators that are placed to treat various areas simultaneously. The FDA approved truSculpt® flex to treat the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. To see a 30% increase in muscle mass, the manufacturer recommends up to six 45-minute sessions spaced 48 hours apart.

5. CoolSculpting

How it works?
It uses cryolipolysis, a fat-freezing method that reduces localized fat deposits in body areas that don't respond to diet and exercise. Fatty tissues in the area are chosen and massaged with an applicator that suctions the skin and fatty tissue into cooling cups. CoolSculpting has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat the chin, upper arms, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hip/flank, upper back, lower back, and underneath buttocks. The treatment can be composed of two or three sessions lasting 35 to 75 minutes. Studies have proved a 25% fat cell destruction in areas treated.

At Pravan, we have chosen to provide EMSculpt NEO given that it offers a complete body recomposition approach and enhances life quality by strengthening muscle groups that are key to posture and stability. NEO’s backed up by over seven clinical studies, and more are to be coming related to visceral fat reduction later this year. And our patients love the treatment, reporting feeling stronger and a visible decrease in inches.
